Taxes made painless

I like using Turbotax because of the easy guide. It is a step by step method and is very in depth. I like the fact that the returns are reviewed for accuracy and it questions entries that may be in error. I have used Turbotax for several years and have always been satisfied. It found more deductions than having one of the free tax services.
What's great about it: The easy guide, the review, checking for accuracy
What's not so great: some of the learn more are not in simple enough language

I have been using Turbo Tax for more than 10 years, and have recommended it to dozens of people. My time is too valuable to spend reading volumes of tax information trying to figure out what they are asking for on each line. Turbo Tax does the reading for you and interprets your input.
What's great about it: saves me hours of grueling effort

Appreciate the EasyGuide Step by Step

The software was excellent and I didn't get any errors or issues unless my computer was not connected to the internet service. It was encouraging to get updates on changes to forms or code as you went along. A note should be added upfront that the tax rating is done alone the way or at some point. I was expecting a screen with here is your adjusted income and the taxable amount on that income exactly if you had a hard copy tax table. I wasn't sure it was processed until I noticed the refund number not change often. Overall, excellent. Please add more help for intermediate users on the cost basis and date of acquisition. It is bad that the broker documents were not clear or seem incomplete.
What's great about it: The images and notes of encouragement of your progress was a plus.
What's not so great: Sale of stocks or funds not so easy. Didnt like that I needed prior year returns. Took longer.Misplaced

Used it by myself for the first time sucessfully

Turbo tax step by step allows for filling in options and explanations of what you are responding to in each area. In addition, the analysis and what is normal and not is very helpful. Appreciated very much the analysis of auditability in order to determine if you need to look at the taxes differently. Comparison and analysis allows for a very thorough understanding of the tax process in a manner that I was able to explain to my young son the issue of liability versus foucus on refund only.
What's great about it: the abiliy to go back to relook and anyze results
What's not so great: actually found nothing I did not like

One stop refund shop

I've been using TurboTax since 1996. It doesn't get any easier. Without TurboTax there are credits and deductions I wouldn't have even thought of checking.
If you want a better refund and less risk of an audit...TurboTax is the way to go.
What's great about it: TurboTax made getting my tax prep done quick and easy
What's not so great: What cons?
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
