Thank God For Turbo Tax

I loved the Federal filing. The way it walked me through was wonderful. I didn't have any questions that weren't answered by clicking on some help. The state return question on if I had itemized last year was hard for me to understand. I finally figured it out but there weren't good instructions and explanations on the questions like there was on the federal return. This was my first attempt at filing my own return. I will never pay anyone to do my return again! It was so easy. I told all my friends!!!
What's great about it: So easy to follow instructions!
What's not so great: The state income tax questions were difficult to understand

Overall - easy to navigate with simple questions to answer
What's not so great: Needed to complete a dummy S-Corp in order to delete the entry....not given the option to go back to fix.

Best Program for Tax Returns!

I tried using a tax preparer for the last two years and realized that they aren't doing me any favors, in fact they are coming up with the same returns - just charging me more to do it!

I've been an accountant for part of my career and Turbo tax keeps up with the latest tax laws for me. As a software developer I appreciate Intuit's clean easy to follow interface. I might look at other options if our taxes were extremely complicated but I would still give Turbo Tax a shot first.

First time I have used Turbo Tax after using a competitor for over 10 years. Your software ran better on my computer and took me less time for data entry.

TurboTax Deluxe 2012

I have used TurboTax for years and the 2012 edition has been the best version to date. It has improved upon last year's version by adding in better questions for deductions I always felt unsure of. This year the questions gave me confidence that I was getting the right deductions on the right forms.
