Quick and easy for the whole family

I have six kids and they all have had me do their returns. I can crank them out pretty quick. My mom is retired and her return is very simple and easy to do also using Turbo Tax. The only return I don't do any more is my oldest kid's return because she is a CPA and would be embarrassed to have me do her return using Turbo Tax, but I did hers until she passed the CPA exam. My return is more complex, but using Turbo Tax from year to year helps make it go quicker and it doesn't let you forget things like disallowed investment expenses carried forward to the current year.
What's great about it: I can do all my kids taxes quick and easy
What's not so great: I would like to be able to switch over and see the actual return forms more easily

refund more than I expected

I did my taxes 3 times total.....the first time I didn't have much of a refund.....my computer shut down unexpectly and I had to start over....I got more of a refund so I did it again just to be on the safe side.
What's great about it: step by step questions

Various versions of TurboTax have served me well over the years, throuigh personal changers, business ventures and on into retirement. You can't find better tax software anywhere at any price.
What's great about it: The software is easy to use and it is what I have been using for 15 years.

Printing Confusion

I've used TurboTax since 1991. Up until this year, you had to print paper copies (to mail) using the program to insure they would be accepted by government. I've saved MY copies as PDF's even before TurboTax supported PDF's.
2012 is different. You print the paper copy for filing from the PDF reader. NOWHERE IN THE INSTRUCTIONS DOES IT TELL YOU THIS. In the past, this may not have been accepted by the government.
Don't leave this for the user to guess. The screen says "Print your return for filing" and shows a printer icon. If you were new to TurboTax, you probably would just print from the PDF reader. Those who have been using TT for a long time know better, or at least thought we did. An hour later, I finally found a note from "VolvoGirl" explaining the new procedure. I like PDF's but please, don't skip the final step - "Print your copy to mail from the PDF window".
What's great about it: Imports past year nicely, including Sked C
What's not so great: Printing paper copy to file obscure

Nice and Quick

Turbo Tax works great. I was a little nervous about missing something the first time around, but it's pretty easy. I believe this is my third, maybe second year now and it seems to get quicker and easier each year.
What's great about it: Info from past tax filing uploading is great and saves time
What's not so great: None

Needs Help

The interview went okay, but kept starting over if I went to forms to check my progress. When I needed to understand a form, such as a 1116, there was no real help in TurboTax. Forums are a real waste of time. I had to re-enter several figures multiple times because TT didn't track or label the entries correctly.
What's great about it: It simplified the process for a complex filing.
What's not so great: The help function was lacking. Couldn't find good help.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Seemed thorough

Taxes are complicated and I'm worried that I might miss an aspect, be it income or deductions. TurboTax helps me hit all the points and feel confident that I missed nothing that would apply to my situation.
What's great about it: Helped me think of all the income and deductions
