Dedicated fan!

I've been using Turbo Tax for about 10 years. It's easy for me: I have 1 employer, own 1 residence, and don't have any unusual investments. But even in the years I had adoptions, some stuff of which I had to split over 2 years, Turbo Tax led me through each step with relative ease.
What's great about it: Easy to use; does MOST of work for you; autofills from previous year and from Federal to State forms.
What's not so great: No link you back to various points on the return that require correction (upon review).

This is our seventh or eighth year of using Turbo Tax. We file the long form. We have had a couple of years with unusual circumstances (ex. getting thrown into the Alternative Minimum Tax nightmare). Turbo Tax is able to handle those kinds of situations with adequate explanation and guidance. We have suggested it to friends who pay tthrough the nose for tax prep help, when it does not seem necessary. This year, we had a slight problem printing a paper version of our return, but solved it ourselves. Thanks for being there every year.
What's great about it: easy quide and comparison with previous year
What's not so great: printing difficult

TurboTax is the best and most accurate way to do your taxes.
The interview is more complete than most tax professionals, and the interview makes it possible to find all our deductions and savings. Next year will be easier than this year, since you bring most data forward, and we only have to review and make updates to that data. This procedure also helps us remember all the data for our next tax return. Your data accuracy and your helpful people result in an complete and accurate tax return that benefits us and the government.

What's great about it: Bringing forward data from last year was very helpful. The interview was clear, easy, and accurate.
What's not so great: Difficult finding a problem. Would like fewer questions in the interview, but understand that is not possible.

Minimizes the Pain

I appreciate the quick import of data from last year's tax return which helps to minimize the pain. It also keeps track of things like deductable state taxes paid which makes it easy. There are some things that could be improved. For example , my W2 had a cryptic entry in box 11, "Nonqualified plans". There wasn't enough info in the pop-up help to immediately figure out whether I had to deal with this or not. I didn't want to go to the IRS forms unless I had to, so a little more pop-up info on some of the less common entries would be helpful.
What's great about it: Fast import of info from previous years like deductable taxes
What's not so great: More pop-up help for some of the less common entries would be helpful
