So Easy, a Fifth Grader Could Do It

the step by step procedures make filling and filing the tax returns enjoyable to complete and takes the hassle out of getting the returns finalized.

Easy

I've used TT for over 10 years. I sure beats paying someone to fill in some number. Multiple times I've had income in more than one state and it seems to handle that fine.
What's great about it: Easy to use, even with multiple states, import of last year's info makes it even faster
What's not so great: Cost of additional states forms

TurboTax does a great job of guiding you through the complex tax conditions, inputs, and considerations. Most questions on the meaning of input fields are answered with a click on hypertext at the field. Love the option to explore the tax forms individually or input categories separately vs step-by-step guide; it helps accelerate through sections that you're very comfortable with.
What's great about it: Thorough guide through the tax maze plus great online reference
What's not so great: Tax Code is too complex!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Been using Turbotax for years. I like that it imports previous years and makes entering my (simple) information very easy.
I could do without the constant attempts to get me to upgrade.
