Easy and Pain Free

I have been using Turbo Tax for 10 plus years and found it easier to use with each passing year. The instructions are simple and logical and it goes very quickly once you have all your tax documents at hand. For the average tax payer this is a great cost effective option over paying an accountant or tax preparer.
What's great about it: Simple and easy step by step instructions anyone can understand
What's not so great: It's not free, but what is?

survived tax season

The one big con I found was the uncertainty on how to handle tax-free investments which only had a percentage of obligations in my resident state. I had to compute the dollar amount myself and then figure out where to enter it, whereas turbo-tax could probably have done it if there was a spot to fill in the percentage. Everything else went very smoothly.
What's great about it: general ease of use

Simple to Use

For the most part Turbo Tax is very easy & simple to use!! Each year the program gets better! There have been a few times I had a question though & the only way I found the answer was to go to the IRS. I would like to see Turbo tax have a way to access the question & answer search better.
What's great about it: Loved the State Import Convenience
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I use Turbo Tax every year. Very reliable, but I get tired of questions that do not pertain - A person who does not owe any tax does not need questions about how to save money on taxes with deductions, IRAs.
What's great about it: I like all the items it remembers from last return.
What's not so great: For a person who barely makes any money and owes no money, why ask about an IRA to save on taxes?

Almost too easy

What's great about it: can download some forms
What's not so great: Why can't I see a 2 year comparison for my Federal, like I can for State?

Used for my return and my girl friends. Excellent step by step. Seems like less help on topics.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate.
What's not so great: Need large print edition. Or option to enlarge. made frequent use of mag glass for help toics.

I have used Turbo Tax for about a decade and it has never disappointed me. I feel that I am being educated on new tax deductions and alerted to any problems that might be a red flag on my return to the IRS. I get printed forms and can save them to my files as well. If you can read, you can do Turbo Tax. I love it and recommend it to my family and friends every year.
What's great about it: The ability to load your previous information from the last year and load info from your accounting software.
What's not so great: I don't see any cons.
