Turbo Tax driving Tax Accounts to Extinction

Been using Turbo Tax for many years now. First year was a little painful. But the great thing about continued use is that it pulls up old information. Plus love how it is able to access investments through financial institutions, which would otherwise be a extremely tedious process.
What's great about it: Ridiculously easy to use. Even your flunky brother-in-law can figure it out.
What's not so great: Live support not easy to access

I like the fact that it imports last years information - with 4 kids and two in college, that is a great time saver. I also like the fact that it checks multiple scenarios recommending the best for myself. It also tracks multi-year deductions making sure that I do not miss anything.
What's great about it: Imports last years return saving effort - tracks multi-year items

I have been using Turbo Tax for years now and feel fairly comfortable with the program. I think my overall fears of using the program are from not fully understanding the entire tax preparation process even after being guided through it with the program. I always wonder when I am finished if I did everything correctly so that I can get the actual refund that I am entitled to.
What's great about it: I like that the program guides me through each part of the tax preparation process
What's not so great: I can not always seem to get back to a screen where I need to edit something that I entered earlier

I've used TurboTax since it was MacinTax, or whatever it was called. The Mac software was somewhat irritating in the early 2000s, but has now come around to easy, thorough and useful.
What's great about it: the process is more streamlined

No Place to Sign California Returns

The instructions regarding filing the California return by mail include "Remember to sign and date the return".
On the packager printed for mailing there is no place to either sign or date the California Return. Uncertain as to how to handle I printed the first three pages of the standard return (from "forms") which had a place to sign and date. This probably confused the Franchise Tax Board as I submitted two sets of the initial part of the return.

Easy to use

Turbo Tax is easy to use and even fun for me. It looks at all income and deductions so it is hard to miss anything you need to report. Probably the best feature of Turbo Tax is that you don't need to be an accountant to use it- in other words it is very user friendly.
What's great about it: Detailed and covers all tax issues and deductions
What's not so great: Can't think of anything
