CD Version

I have used the online version of Turbo Tax for 3 years now. This year I decided to buy the CD for no specific reason. The only problem I had with the CD version was the updates I had to run two or three times. This wasn't the case with the online version. When it came time to download the State Return it never came up. I had to call customer service, get a State Return sent to my online Turbo Tax account only to find out it wasn't there. I thought I'd try filing the Federal Return in the meantime. Again, while loading the CD version there was a notification stating there were updates to install, so I did. There was my State Return! I give it a 4 Star.
What's great about it: Step by Step instructions! :)
What's not so great: I had to continually check for updates and wait for those updates to download.

Excellent choice for tax preps

Have had several people try to get me to switch software. After all these years, I still believe this is the best in spite of things I don't like.
What's great about it: Always easy to work with.
What's not so great: delay in being able to access proper forms from government
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have used TurboTax for the last 6-7 yrs. It is easy to use and e-file. Can't beat the price compared to professional tax preparers.
What's great about it: Ease of use, accuracy, price
What's not so great: had technical issues downloading the updates.

Turbo Tax 2012 was simple/easy to use. It made my filing quick. I had an HSA and HDHP for the 1st time in 2012 and the definitions for whether I qualified in an HDHP were pretty vague. I had to go to some other 3rd party sources for explanations to ensure I could check the "yes" box. If I hadn't done this, I would have missed out on approx $1K deduction. Glad I did the extra work. Suggest Intuit take an "if, then" Q&A approach to this and other complex tax areas to make your product even easier to use.

I miss the help with monitoring the progress of my return . last year I could get an update as to when to expect my refund. I cant find it this year.

Love the free live tax support!

Although the hold time for Turbo-tax live support is long, it's well worth the wait. Friendly and helpful real people helped walk me through a "taxing" situation and eased my fears about filing my taxes this year.
What's great about it: Step by step prompts, able to look at forms/review sections quickly, imports data from previous years

I've used Turbo Tax for a number of years now and the automated walk through is the best!!!! It gives new users and seasoned "vets" confidence that you are doing your return correctly, and the comparisons for year to year let you see at a glance how you are doing.
