Over all Turbo Tax is my favorite way of filing taxes. I have been using Turbo for several years and love the easiness of filing my taxes.
What's great about it: It walks you through easily.
What's not so great: Had some trouble finding right form

Almost Perfect

When doing e-file I was asked to input - again - my W-2 Empl ID - I had two to input and screwed this up - did not realize until the first was input and no way to go back or edit first entry. This data was not missing or caught in the Review process so I assume needed for e-filing - but should be able to edit - did not see how to do that - filed so I hope it does not hose up my refund.
What's great about it: A lot more user friendly moving around the UI nice touch on showing me how to ready a check for routing number.
What's not so great: found a minor bug see Review
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax Review

Overall, Turbo tax was pretty easy to navigate. I finished the federal form in about 3 hours but had to go back and add some items I forgot ealier. Had some difficulty dealing with a K-1 form and making those entries. State form was a no brainer, just a few mouse clicks
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
What's not so great: A bit difficult to deal with a K-1 form

wonderful guidance
on April 2, 2013
Posted by: Lewlo
Using the computer at home , avoiding the regular mail, felt more secure and complete. Made as sure as possible I didn't forget anything.
What's great about it: Good step by step instructions, easy to follow. Feel good about doing this way rather than messy writing, worry about ma
What's not so great: Hard to locate "alimony" section, easier on 1040.

Get it done FAST
on April 2, 2013

This is a great product. I've used it for years. It's simple, fast, accurate, and has a lot of more nuanced stuff handled (like in my case not reporting half of a 1099 amount as taxable since it's in a shared account). Really like having last year's data flow through. A few edits and I'm home. Have complex finances - as many of us do midlife - and TTax really handles the details.
What's great about it: Ability to move between sections or be guided, questions easy to understand

kids ITIN number function bug
on April 2, 2013
Posted by: Anonymous
when calculating return, if kids ITIN# is missing (common case for the 1st time tax filer, who must include an W7 together with the 1040 to get it), then the refund calulation will not include kids tax credit. it ends up that I have to file a amended return.
What's not so great: a missing kids ITIN lead to kids tax credit missing
