Fast and Easy

What a great experience. Very simple and easy to understand guides this year. Full 1040 and State in less than 20 minutes going through the guides.
What's great about it: Very quick user experience
What's not so great: The eFile number needs more clarity
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

What's great about it: So simple. It walks you through EVERYTHING!

Bugs and Poorly Written Screens

This year's TurboTax has/had a bug that wouldn't accept a correction. After some help from the community (and lots of frustration) I found the bug and fixed it. Then, when I was doing an amended return, at the point of printing out the 1040X, TT acts like you're printing a regular 1040 and invites you to email your return (something you can't do with an amended return). Only by ignoring the screen and printing anyway did I find out it would print a 1040X. I went through a lot of unnecessary frustration and angst.
What's great about it: Cheaper than a CPA
What's not so great: Software nightmare.

program didn't right

I have used turbo tax for 10 years now . This is the first time the program had a glitch. When I tried to E file my state return I would get DOS windows showing the computer code.
My solution was to back up and file Federal electronically and then just mail in my state return. I would get Notepad windows showing the code & a smaller turbotax window that was blank and froze the program. I would then have to reboot.

Best Tax Software to use

I enjoy using Turbo Tax Deluxe every year because of how easy it is to use for filing my tax returns. I have been using Turbo Tax software for many years and I have not seen anything that would make me quit so I will continue to do so and I would recommend others to do the same.
What's great about it: The ease of use is fantastic
What's not so great: Not enough to mention
