2012 Tax Return

I'm 74 years young. I am a retired Engineering Professor, not an Accountant. I believe there is a benefit of understanding by working out the entire set of forms manually before loading up Turbo Tax. That way I know why TurboTax is asking it's questions. It takes some time up front but then you have everything in order when you start Turbo Tax. I always demanded of my students that they work out problems manually until they understand the Theory. Then they can use the Computer intelligently.

Another Successfull Turbo Tax Year

Another successfull Turbo Tax Year. Been using Turbo tax since 2000 and it has been a god send. Each year the product has improved to make the experience of having to enter and verify information much easier. Very intuitive product that helps identify the little things that can increase refund compared to doing it by hand. Lights out product...looking forward to next year.

Tax Preparation for an Amateur!

The greatest strength of this software is, that at every point throughout the preparation process, the individual taxpayer is reassured of two critically important facts: 1) The specific tax category/issue is thoroughly explained and defined so the taxpayer can determine if the issue presented really pertains to him/her, and 2) There is always the explanation and directions about how the taxpayer can go back and add/edit/delete or change in any way, what information s/he has entered. Knowing that I can edit and change gave me the GREATEST confidence while using the program!
What's great about it: Thorough explanation of tax/income/deduction categories
What's not so great: There is nothing about this program that needs improvement!

The Only Way to go

I've been using Turbo Tax for ten years now and not once has it let me down! It walks you through the steps with very clear and easy to understand language. Great range of products and ways to use them (online, downloads). Price is definitely a lot less than going to a tax preparer.
