Only One Downfall

The software is easy to use and for the most part explains things pretty well but the one problem I have with it is that you have to pay extra to have professional support (ie, to ask a question) if you need it. Other companies provide this service with the software.
What's great about it: EASY to use
What's not so great: have to pay extra for professional support

I've been using Turbo Tax for over 15 years now. It's easy to use, and I'd never pay for an accountant to do it.
What's great about it: Easy to use, simple to follow

Turbo for Riva

TurboTax allows me, a techie moron, to do my taxes with ease. Albeit, first year, with a bit of terror. Now, three years later, it flows smoothly. MOSTLY because I can download all the data from my financial sources and don't have to deal with "profits-losses- long term- short term-, etc.
I hardly feel sorry for the business I deny my former accountant, as he always delayed my return until the last miinute.
Net result : I am more relaxed doing it myself than with a professional. That's a big ego trip for a techie moron!

What's great about it: Best featurwe of all is the ability to go back and forth and , in my case, back and forth, entering in bits and pieces.
What's not so great: Did NOT notice "& State" missing from box of DeLuxe 2012 - when included in my 2011. State fee was a JOLT!

Turbo Tax is an excellent program. I have used it in the past and it is very easy to understand, find deductions, and provide detailed instructions to file your taxes. I would use it every time. A+++

Turbo review

I had a complicated return with National Science Foundation funding that required some detailed review of guidelines outside of Turbotax but the program handled the requirements just as they should have been. I most appreciated the financial institution download for stocks and mutual funds.
What's great about it: Easy to use and follow instructions. The download from institutions was fantastic.
What's not so great: It would be nice if it started up again where you left off.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
