I have used TurboTax for years and generally love it. There were a few glitches this time. e.g. You kept telling me my W-2 was incomplete when I had made it clear I didn't use W-2 (1099's instead). It kept asking questions of my Pension Fund which were not necessary before in all 11 years that I have been receiving a pension. I wish it was a little more flexible when I needed to go over things for corrections. I am generally please, however. Couldn't do without it!
What's great about it: Good guidance; feeling of security
What's not so great: Some glitches not seen before

Great program. Guides you step by step. Continually upgrades automatically as new tax regs come out...no need to worry with Audit Defense to back you up.

Like Getting an easy "A"

2012 filing is my 8th in a row with Turbo Tax and my 2nd time to use efile. I especially like the step by step instructions for schedule K-1. This is a complicated form and I'm sure I would need a CPA if I didn't use Turbo Tax. Another important feature for me is the assistance in setting values for donated items to charity. One last thing: I own two rental properties and again the ease in which Turbo Tax asks and imputes the tax information is amazing.
Anyone with a computer and keyboard can easily take advantage of the low cost and ease of filing both fed and state taxes. Don't pay the big bucks the tax professionals demand for their services when you can easily do this yourself.

What's great about it: Simple and easy to use. Stores info for future returns. Efile is quick. Everything is accurate.
What's not so great: State efile should be included in price

This is soooo easy

With this program you learn about taxes and the information you need as you go. Basically it's like going to a tax preparer only WAY cheaper. It asks you the same thing the preparer does only you input the information rather than them doing it!
What's great about it: This program walks you through the filing process as much or as little as you need

12th Year, Still Love It!

I am a recovering (retired) accountant and TurboTax makes things so very smooth I can't imagine doing our tax returns without it. And yes, I use the Step-by-Step method because it knows where everything goes on all the complex forms!
This is my 12th year with TurboTax and it just keeps getting better every year. I always E-file and always use Audit Defense as well.
What's great about it: Very easy to use

Really makes tax return prep easy, fast and understandable. Unless you're a multi-millionaire, don't understand why anyone would do it any other way.

Please stick to basic stuff. Imagine a world where there are people without Facebook and Twitter accounts.
