Better But There Yet

I have found a few instances that I needed to get info or exercise options that lead me to difficult paths to ever get to the point I was seeking. Additionally I have yet to figure out how the pose a question and see if there's an answer out there in Intuit World works. Its difficult at least for me.
What's great about it: It continues to be rather through
What's not so great: THe ability to get to what you want to address is not totally possible in an easy fashion
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great except for Home Office Deduction issues

Usually the program is easy to navigate but is confusing for taxpayers who have both the Home Office deduction and Business Expense items. Danger of entering info twice or of missing items for Home Office Deduction entirely. More warnings are necessary as to when and where to enter items that apply to one or the other or both.

Improves every year

Good, context-specific guidance, plus the ability to review prior entries and forms in progress. As always, it is convenient to import the data from the prior year. The demographic data saves a lot of reentry, and the numeric data provides a roadmap, reminders, sense of perspective, and in some cases entries for the current year (such as payments for last year's state tax due).
What's great about it: Logical presentation with flexibility to take different views and return to last point. Load, compare - prior yr info.

Easy to Use and Comprehensive

Great tax software; I've used it for years and renew each year. Great for the situations I face even with multiple family members, each with a unique tax need. Covers nearly everything you could want, including maximizing deductions and self-employment. If I had to improve anything, I'd expand TurboTax's help screens beyond the few relevant answers to the query. I ended up going to the IRS Pubs for questions several times. I will buy it again next year.
What's great about it: I prepare taxes for several family members with very different tax needs. TurboTax steps us thru the process.
What's not so great: The help screen searches are sort of sketchy - found myself going to the IRS pubs.

Some problems

Biggest complain was as stated above. Couldn't add a 8949 for non-business bad debt. Plus the transfer of tax-exempt zero muni bonds from Merrill Lynch appears oas capital gains.
As a result couldn't find electronically.
What's great about it: Handles most material fine. Simplify broker transactions with input transfer.
What's not so great: Couldn't add a new 8949 that I needed. As result couldn't file electronically.

Quick And Easy

I have use Turbo Tax for more than ten years. I tried another tax program a couple years ago because it was cheaper and had a popular name. It was more difficult to use and they made up for the low cost by charging more for the state tax program. I am happy with Turbo Tax.

Mother's Return

I did my 93 year old mother's return this year. It was not an easy one since she had major medical expenses and stock and mutual fund sales. Turbo Tax made the process very easy. Thank you, A long time user
