Good program but could be better

The program pulled numbers from the Fed to the state return for short term gains and losses. However it is not obvious where these numbers come from. It would be better if there was a work sheet after entering in all the stock sales info that added up the short term gains and losses so that you could see how the end result numbers where generated. I had to manually add pages of short term gains and losses to understand how you arrived at the number.
What's great about it: multi year user, it is a very good program

I feel so much better after it's over

So much of the stress has been taken out of the tax filling process. I'm over joyed knowing that I don't have triple check my math and where the numbers are placed and the forms they're on. Once I know I've entered the right info as requested by TurboTax,. the stress is gone.
My only problem was the input of info from my Sch K-1. From my memory, I remember only one window open to make entries . This year, if I had data in box 1,2 and /or 3, I was requested to create more than one entry page for the same K-1. This part is still a mystery to me, but did my best.

What's great about it: Almost all the headaches are gone.
What's not so great: Had a little trouble with Sch K-1

Tax return 2012

Liked being able to do my taxes myself. The software seemed to be pretty thorough in covering all the items that are relevant to my situation. The tax items that included detailed explainations when I had a question about just what was covered, helped tremendously to understand what it meant.
The print forms sections to print forms for filing was confusing because it the only options in the box was save to PDF, print preview or cancel. I did not see a print option.
So I saved to a PDF and printed from there.
I am overall pleased with turbo tax and will use it again next year.

What's great about it: I saved money not having to use a tax preparer.
What's not so great: A few items did not give a resource for explaination.

The program is well written and works very smoothly. As a senior (68yrs) I get very nervous using TurboTax but other than not knowing enough about what I might be able to deduct/itemize and/or having the documentation handy, i found the pop-up windows very useful and then the whole process (which took me about 4.5 hours-had to catch and release a stray bird in the middle of my working!) went well.Just wish I had bought the software and filed earlier this year.
What's great about it: easy to work with
What's not so great: should have known what to itemize before

Doing the taxes for family members with no deductions is a snap, since it is easy to follow and enter.

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. Have always found it easy to follow and enter the information. I will continue to use it.
