For years, I did my return the "old fashioned" way -- going to the local library and gathering all the necessary forms and booklets needed -- even after Turbo Tax became available.
A few years ago, a co-worker told me she was going to purchase the software to do her taxes and asked if I'd like to split the cost with her on the price. I told her I didn't "trust" any software to do what I could do with paper and pen. Needless to say, in an effort to lessen her cost, I offered to go in on it with her. And now, every spring, I'm so thankful that I did!
I have used TurboTax for 5 years now and am absolutely convinced that this is the ONLY way to do your taxes! The software is so easy to use - it takes you effortlessly from 1 category to the next, taking you through each and every detail -- with HELP always available should you need it!
I highly recommend TurboTax for it's simplicity and for the peace of mind knowing that my return is accurate - every time!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy to load and go through each step. I just keep all tax papers we recieve in a folder until time to use the Turbo tax program. The program tells you each thing to type in and keeps last years information there, too so you can compare to previous entries which helps you double check if anything looks weird. I've used Turbo tax for years and it's always been pretty painless. I usually spend a couple of long evenings working on it and it's done.

My wife usually completes our taxes. This year, she is under the weather and just didn't feel like it. To be "helpful", I thought I would get started on it. Before I knew it, I was done! TurboTax was easy to use and guided me along every step of the process. Highly recommended for everyone...especially those that itemize deductions like we do!
What's great about it: Walked me through every step of the way and imported most of the information for me!

I do like the look and feel of TuboTax....Aside from the cost...I do highly recommend this program. I have been a user now for over 15 years....

would have liked better if when you finished one section in deductions etc that it would take you to next one and not back to beginning of section.

Returns + Refunds= Lots of R & R . Returning Turbo Tax user of 10 years. Turbo Tax has improved each of those years in offering the latest information, guidance and support. Each year completing my taxes takes less time and effort and each year I have received a refund. Easy returns with refunds makes more time for R & R. Thanks for having such a great product!
What's great about it: Easy to install, easy to complete, easy to file
