What's great about it: I trust the return was completed accurately and completely
What's not so great: took longer this year than previous years
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Paying taxes with confidence!

I've been using TurboTax for many years. I've tried a few other products online but I am comfortable with TurboTax. The last two years I've had to pay the IRS, but I'm sure I'm doing the best I can. I'm sticking with TurboTax!
What's great about it: Easy to use, easy to answer your questions along the way.

Would recommend to anyone. Used Turbo tax for years with no problems so far.
What's great about it: Walked me through each step of the return. Clear instructions.
What's not so great: Doesn't automatically include the cost of e-filing the state return

For years I hand filed and went through the nightmare of trying to understand the "instructions". Finally, I used Turbo Tax and it is so much simpler and well worth the investment. Plus, it help me catch things I did not know about or have forgotten I could claim on my returns.
What's great about it: Helps me with deductions I did not know about.
What's not so great: No cons.

After my third year using Turbo Tax, I've become more familiar with its functionality and menu systems. I find it easy to navigate and models a similar experience to sitting in a room with an accountant. Of course, nothing beats a trustworthy and reliable CPA.
My biggest hesitation about Turbo Tax is the inability to ask probing questions that could lead to more thoughtful itemization for the best possible return. This year I noticed how Turbo asked some clarifying questions which led to a couple of suggestions that provided my family a better return. It also reminded me about the advantages of an FSA account, which I will setup this year. I'm happy about my return this year and I look forward to the next iteration of this software.
In order to take full advantage of the Turbo Tax, one needs to know a little bit about how to do their own taxes (particularly in terms of gathering forms and where to find information). Tax codes and the technical language used when filing taxes can be very confusing and unfamiliar to most people. Turbo Tax does simplify the process for me (38 yr, male, college grad, parent, homeowner, professional) but I'm not sure how well someone new to paying state and federal taxes may fair with the program.
What's great about it: Fairly intuitive to navigate; Provided some good tax advice and reminders
What's not so great: Did not recognize childcare provider EIN, had to use SSN

Turbo Tax NewbieMI

I've always relied on my husband to file our taxes. To all those ladies out there this product is awesome and if your husband's have been using Turbo Tax and telling you that it's so hard for them to do taxes they are exaggerating. Try it you'll be amazed at how easy it is !
What's great about it: Very intuitive w/ great help text.
What's not so great: No voice recognition so lot's of typing :)

a bit tricky

Just a few minor snags. When asked if we have a child the answer is yes, however, we did not have a child in the year of the taxes we were filing. This and other questions are bit misleading and probably need more detail.
What's great about it: all done at home
What's not so great: the verbage was misleading
Pros: I moved, I had a baby
