Easy and Accurate

The most time-consuming part of tax filing is collection, assembly, and collation of the various forms and information needed for the return whether you pay a tax preparer or do it yourself with TurboTax. I used to pay a preparer but for the last several years I compared the paid tax preparer's output with a pro-forma return that I prepared with TurboTax. I am now convinced that the results are essentially the same. Additionally, TurboTax can download a lot of information that the tax preparer had to enter by hand. TurboTax is less expensive and less time consuming than traveling and working with the paid preparer.
What's great about it: Why pay big money to a tax preparer
What's not so great: Some of the questions required a detail knowledge of tax jargon

I've been using turbo tax for years and it is definitely the easiest way to do taxes. When I look over my printed tax form I find it so confusing. It is much easier to have the computer put everything in it's place.
What's great about it: the ease of filing
What's not so great: some of the questions are confusing

PEACE OF MIND

I recently changed status to a person working and now recieving Social Security. I knew there were special tax consideration and the program did it seemlessly.
I suggest reviewing the fees charged since there are ways to file free. I made the choice to buy this package and file because of my filing status, but over $80 seems a little much.
What's great about it: The program is easy to use and gives me a sense of confidence that the end result is correct
What's not so great: There is no way to print informational displays that I wanted to retain until my filing was completed & refund received.

MY FILING

A red flag was raising (STATE RETURN) related to the pension form4884. Program would not let me re-enter "N" . I had to enter a different code and than re-enter the letter N before I could cpmplete my submission. I think this needs to be fixed.
What's great about it: Fairly, straight-forward. Easy to follow. Liked the Q&A Section.
What's not so great: Had a issue with transmitting State form

Rad Refund!

I got a rad refund through Turbo Tax, and it was so incredibly easy! I called them up twice for some specific questions regarding my state laws, and the people on the phone were so helpful and kind! This is my 3rd year filing with Turbo Tax and it just gets easier and easier! Thanks so much!
What's great about it: Easy, Clear, Understandable, Phone Help

I like to save my data on my own computer, not online. I would use the online Turbo Tax but the last time I started to use it I did not have this option.
I have not used any professional Tax preparers/CPA for over 20 years. I have always done my taxes myself and Turbo provides all the forms I need and answers to questions if needed.
What's great about it: I Trust Turbo Tax, have used it now for last 10 years.
What's not so great: Do not want to store personal information online.
