I use TurboTax every year since 2000 and I am still loving it!!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Smooth and Easy

SOftware is so easy to use. I love how it walks me thru every detail and offers great explanations as I go. Thanks Turbo Tax! I'll use ONLY Turbo Tax software every year.

Works Well, but You Need to Be Informned

This program makes most of your routine tax filing (including some complexities such as capital gains, loss carryovers, and AMT) a breeze, but for complex items, you still need to know a bit to enter the data so that you will get it right. Two areas that I needed to think through and make sure my entries were correct were the treatment of tax-exempt interest generated in my state on the state tax return and the complete sale of my interest in a partnership.
What's great about it: Makes AMT and coordination of complex schedules really easy; reminds you of income types; suggests ideas for deductions
What's not so great: If your return is too complex (Rental property, partnerships, etc.) and you're not an expert, invest in an accountant!

I have used Turbotax for many years and find that it makes my filing possible without going to a professional Tax Preparer. I can prepare my returns at home in comfort knowing that when it is finished, it will be correct and complete.
What's great about it: Thorough and methodical
What's not so great: State return was confusing relative to Pension information.
