Quick and easy

The program is easy to follow and it has lots of definitions of what the deductions mean and what deductions I qualify for. I have found that it sometimes has trouble locating things like banking information on line. Easier to just type the information myself. I really like being able to do this myself. In the past I have taken my tax info to an accountant to do my taxes and have had to take it back to them more than once to fix a mistake they made.
What's great about it: Walks you through every step
What's not so great: Doesn't always e-mail me when there is a problem with my return.

I have used this tool for many years, it may not be as sophisticated and complex to what a professional tax preparer would (and I have done this also in the past); but the toll is simple to use, provides an organized way to prepare the tax and is very use for the next year to import most of the tedious information. I would love to have the import from W2 forms and other documents been done automatically, I would also like to have something like an advanced data/information entry to avoid last minute searching for supporting documents, this may help us have the tax filing ready when we decide to submit. We would therefore enter the information as we get it. I

Easy to use, accurate results

Preparing tax returns using Turbo Tax is easy. The step by step instructions are easy to follow and after the review step I am confident that my return is accurate.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions are easy to follow
What's not so great: Updates are slow to download and install

I feel Turbo Tax is an very user friendly program and easy to follow. However, this year with the sale of business property held less than one year - the initial questions don't reference one year. It should have been flagged immediately - I figured it out when doing my state tax returns - which talked about a long term capital gain. So I found that part confusing. Other than that I love the carryforward features from prior years so even if I forget Turbo Tax remembers.
What's great about it: Easy to follow- even with complicated returns -remembers prior years
What's not so great: I felt that the sale of business property questionaire needs to be more detailed - see below

Turbo Tax is so Easy to use. Make tax preperation fast, accurate and simple.Guides you every step of the way. I always get the most refund that I can. I have been using turbo tax for years and wouldnt do it any other way.
What's great about it: guides you every step of the way.
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
