I like TurboTax's format and presentation. It steps you through the filing process and includes instructions and necessary details for each section and question.
What's great about it: Concise with sufficient detail to complete the filing accurately

TurboTax is a great product. You can read in complicated w-2s without the worry of entering in wrong information. That's worth the price of the product alone, with all the various retirement plans, cafetreia plans, etc.
What's great about it: Complete and detailed, yet understandable!
What's not so great: I kept reading helpful hints to try to learn and it took me longer than I wanted to cmplete return.

Turbo Tax is a Ten!

I think TurboTax is a great program for 1st time tax do it yourself tax preparation or for the seasoned accountant! I have several accountants I work with use TurboTax every year as do I. I would rate this product a 10 and would recommend this product to anyone!
What's great about it: Easy to follow the steps, information at your fingertips!
What's not so great: I really don't have anything that I didn't like!

I do not get along well with computers and even using Turbo Tax last year was frustrating. You must have made some changes, as this year it was a piece of cake! I did not get frustrated at all and the program guided me through the process very easily. I even switched computers and was able to transfer last years information with no problems what so ever. THANKS! (I was holding on to the old computer because I did not know how to transfer the information over before, now I will not have to turn it on again and listen to the loud obnoxious fan anymore.)
What's great about it: Ease of program
What's not so great: Had to pay, but expected that, having to pay is always a con
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Used TT for over 10 years with relatively few problems. But this time I fell into a programmer error/ trap. I selected a menu option in the step-thru procedure for an income category; I realized it didn't apply and entered nothing; backed out of it and returned to income categories. During a review it said info. was missing for a business partnership. I hunted and searched for the applicable form to fix/delete, but there was none to be found. After circling the error review a few times, I fed some data to the "non-existent" form. Having satisfied the TT "program" with some info., TT finally created a form, which I was then able to find and delete. Bottom line - these tax programs aren't perfect or bullet-proof.
What's great about it: Quick&thorough
What's not so great: Trapped
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Still skeptical

This is my third year using turbotax. Each year I am prompted to pay a 1040-ES despite just having two exemptions. This year I am getting a $16,000 refund and I am still prompted to pay $5000 per quarter on a 1040-ES.
What's great about it: walk through deductions
What's not so great: problems with 1099-R
