Refund and Done

I was a little confused. I checked and elected to pay by check (mail) my Federal Taxes due and yet it appears that this amount was deducted from my State Tax Refund. When the final review was done on Turbo Tax the amount it told me I would be getting back was the overall amount I will get back after I pay what I owe in Federal Taaxes. So If I am mailing my Federal Statement with a check, why does Turbo Tax not show me in the final review the total amouont I will get back from my State Refund without deducting the amount I owe. Otherwise a breeze!!!
What's great about it: Transport of last year's info
What's not so great: Confused - Fed Taxes due appeared to be deducted from State Taxes Due in spite of my checking that I will mail a check.

We have used Turbo Tax for the last 5 years and love it. Between all family members, we wind up filing 6 different tax returns each year and Turbo Tax makes it very simple to complete.
What's great about it: Love the Easy Guide that runs you thru the tax forms

Unresolved issue of CA user tax calculation

You said the program showed the wrong amount in the summary but the correct amount in the final tax due but in my situation the user tax was $55 more in the summary and the final calculation. As a result I am not e-filing my state return. I see there is a link to customer support next to this review. Why isn't it offerred in the "Help"

Confidence and Satisfaction in a Job Well Done.

I always find the program useful but usually it is because I spend time prior to entering data in Turbo Tax into an Excel Spreadsheet to make it easier to find required data such as addresses for charities. Also when I have already entered data into a spreadsheet and have my initial tax summaries completed I am more confident when I see the same totals and summaries presented in the final product screens on Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: The valuation guide to estimate goods donated was helpful but it needs to have an "other" selection to add an item.
What's not so great: The easy guide is very useful but sometimes the helpful hints could use some examples. Sometimes too legal to understand

I couldn't print the forms until I had filed my Federal tax by e-filing. Everything checked OK, no errors but it wouldn't print until I e-filed!
What's great about it: Accurate results.
What's not so great: Need to pay for state e-file.
