That was easy!

Product covers every area that you can imagine from itemized deductions to self-employment. It is an easy program to learn and follow and e-filing is simple and easy.
What's great about it: simple, easy to follow step by step walk through that helps you complete your return
What's not so great: can't think of any

It's okay

Overall I like the software but I don't think that someone without tax knowledge can use it correctly. I do like that the previous year's information is transferred which makes my life easy. After using the software for years, I find that it can be glitchy sometimes and miss deductions unless I specifically go to a section & review it. Someone who is unaware may skip this and lose their deduction. Last year I missed a deduction because Turbo Tax didn't prompt me for it - this was fixed this year so I will be amending. Amending with Turbo Tax is very hard with no tax knowledge. Which brings me to the next point - customer service is pretty much atrocious. The wait is at least an hour and beware if you get someone who isn't very good, you may have to wait another hour.
If there was a better software, I'd probably switch but this is the best there is right now. Much better than doing it by hand.
What's great about it: Mostly easy to understand, transfers previous year's info
What's not so great: Can be glitchy, hard to come back to a section

Best way to prepare your own, but still some bugs

If you are willing to undertake preparing your own taxes, TurboTax makes it easy. The step by step has links on each line where you can learn more about what you are answering on the same page. You can switch from forms to the step by step really easily.
But if you have further questions, using the community is often fruitless - lots of people ask questions that no one ever answers. And the program still has a bug where supporting statements don't print with any info on them. I will be filing by mail again since the only way to get that information to the IRS is make my own.

Double checked

We have used TurboTax for years now. We trust it to be accurate and current with the tax code. We always know that the refund we are getting is the max refund owed to us. No double-check by another firm could improve on that!
What's great about it: TT looked for all the possible credits and deductions we could get

I have Used TurboTax for many years. About 5 years ago I tried Tax Cut for 2 years. It was not for me. I will stay with TurboTax. A bit of advice-be sure you can load TurboTax software from the previous year on a new computer if you change computers between returns.
What's great about it: It is complete and easy to follow.
What's not so great: It didn't use my copy of 2011 return to start 2012 return because TurboTax 2011 was not installed on the new computer.

The Big EASY

This was the easiest year yet with Turbo Tax. It imported last year's information for a smooth transition to begin this year's taxes. It asked pertinent questions to determine my taxes and my refund. I am a satisfied customer.
What's great about it: easy, clear directions,easy to understand,accurate, on target, imports last years information for a smooth transition

Easy Income Tax Filing

I have been using TurboTax for about 15 years and find that it gets better and easier every year. To make it even easier next year, run the error review after each page so that at the end there can be no errors. There seems to be a mistake with the auto expenses and the year auto put into service.and it couldn't be fixed, but I didn't use any of the deductions in the business for the car anyway. The questions seemed to be more understandable this year, but it my have been that I understood them better after all these years. The electronic filing has been getting easier every year.
What's great about it: Just answer questions
What's not so great: A little costly in the long run

2012 TAX RETURNS

I have difficulty getting around the Turbo Tax site when I want to find forms, or print forms. For me there is no easy way to get from Point A to :Point B!!
What's great about it: Ease of preparation
What's not so great: Can't get around site easily
