Very Helpful

Overall a timesaver. Some questions are confusing, but it is better than last year regarding the PA state form. Since we both work from home (me as an S Corp, my husband a self employed author), the returns are complex and confusing at times. They seem more geared to W-2 employees.
What's great about it: Prefilled from 2011, prompts
What's not so great: no 2011 Contribution comparisons

Turbo Tax - Smooth sailing to the final product

Help is available from numerous channels - online, chat, Knowledge files. This is a key feature.
What's great about it: Pulls in your last year's return - compares, analyzes and leads
What's not so great: Gently asks about other products - have to read or you might find yourself buying something else.

I've used Turbo Tax for 9 or 10 years now. It walks you through everything clearly and easily. So much easier on the computer than the old days of filling out the forms by hand and doing all the calculations on your calculator!

TurboTax is Confusing!

If your returns are very simple, TurboTax is the way to go. If you have anything unusual, try a different software or have someone do it for you. TurboTax is vague and confusing.
What's great about it: TurboTax imports last years information which saves you time.
What's not so great: TurboTax is vague and confusing. I will probably not use TurboTax next year.
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Great tool!! It is so easy to use and feel confident that you are doing things correctly.
What's great about it: Easy to use, catches all those deductions you might forget
What's not so great: Cannot transfer W-2 info from enough companies.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
