Great Tax Program

I've been using Turbo Tax for years without any problems unlike my previous tax program. Always plenty of Help.
What's great about it: Quick, Easy, Hands On, &Pleaty of Help Tools
What's not so great: Extra Cost to efile State return

TurboTax - The Citizen's Friend

Doing my taxes was so easy! The hardest part is gathering the information needed to feed the TurboTax questions.
Great program!

What's great about it: It really helped focus on the key things I needed to deal with. Menus work great. Picks up where I left off.

2013 Turbo

Does the complicated AMT calculation and does complicated state taxes. Copies previous year's info. Shows last year's numbers next to this years and list last year's charity deductions, and interest and dividend payments as a sanity check. Calculates complicated depreciation.
There was an error in my state estimated tax calculation that I showed to be wrong by comparison to the paper state form and to last years correct calculation and telephone help desk would not admit it was wrong, but they made a Bandaid fix a couple of days later so it reads funny but the result is correct.
Nevertheless, would use it again next year unless there is a steep price increase.
What's great about it: Makes things easy by calculating AMT and complex state taxes.
What's not so great: Help desk would not admit to an error in their state tax program even though later fixed.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Frustration

Very frustrated this year. Have used Turbo Tax for many years. I worked for hours, which turned into days to correct errors 5639, 5640 & 5641, with no luck. I received the errors after I already paid to efiled my state return. Finally after all this I decided just to mail my returns. Very dissatisfied!

Painless Peace of Mind

This is the 3rd year I've filed using TurboTax and can think of no reason to do otherwise. Would recommend to people who have rather straightforward tax situations as I do.
What's great about it: Comprehensive, concise, clear directions, confidence in result

Not Afraid Anymore

We always had out taxes done by a CPA and when it became too expensive my husband mentioned seeing Turbo Tax advertised on TV and maybe i could try that. I was afraid of doing my own tax. I hate forms and I never liked numbers but I thought, okay, I'll try it. I must say that Turbo Tax makes it easy by simply asking questions. There are even explanations for the questions if you don't understand them. I would, and have, recommended Turbo Tax to anyone. I'm not afaid anymore.
