Done with ease!

While I don't like to do my taxes, Turbo Tax made it much more comfortable.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is so easy to use, the help, support, and explanations are very understandable.
What's not so great: None

Turbo Tax Review

I had problems in four areas:
1. While doing 2012 I discovered errors on 2011. When I went back to 2011 I could never get the program to accept that I had sent my taxes in and that they had been been accepted by the Feds and that I had paid the amount due. I wasted a lot of time on this and finally just filled out the forms all over again.
2. I have rental properties. After entering the data, I sometimes want to make changes, but the program makes me run through a lot of pages before I get to the page I want to make the change on.
3. In charitable contributions I wanted to put the actual cost of yarn that my wife spent for knitted caps she made for cancer patients. No category appears to fit this cost methodology. The caps are worth more than the retail cost of the yarn, but as a charitable contribution I cannot take retail or wholesale value, as that would include my wife's labor. No category matches "retail cost of product bought and donated" (and in this case increased in value).
4. I like to print my return back to back. However I want each form started as a first page on a form. I therefore have to print each form separately. I would like it changed so that each form starts as a first page - therefore when a form is one page or three pages, there will be a blank page at the end of the form.
What's great about it: Easy to use as you go through the normal tax preparation.
What's not so great: Some difficulty when you go back to change things.

Graduated to my own taxes

Overall fairly good experience, Slightly disappointed to see the more w-2's I filed the less money I got back but hey not much turbo tax can do about that. Just making sure I filed properly so thanks are in order. Software worked just how it should I just wish there were a way of screening stuff slightly more in depth to avoid all of the questions that were irrelevant to me. But once again it was just doing its job so thank you, yet again.
What's great about it: Laid everything out for you, simple.
What's not so great: Understandably a lot of questions, but many were irrelevant to me.

taxes made easy

I have used Turbo tax for several years and have always appreciated that I don't have to re-enter information from previous years but instead, plug in the current year's info. It has also helped me when my husband forgets to include a 1099-INT form and I can ask where XXX company's form is......this is especially helpful as we get older and aren't as good at remembering which organizations we gave charitable donations to. Makes doing our taxes SO easy each year!
What's great about it: downloads from previous year so I don't have to re-enter info
What's not so great: none

Use TurboTax

I have found TurboTax for a number of years helpful in dealing with whatever our current situation has been, from apartment to house to child to business to gain to loss. Its ease of use has made the less comprehensible more comprehensible, even when we had no idea that certain life changes actually impacted our tax situation (or how they affected it) until seeing what was laid out in front of us by TurboTax. Easier every year

A great way of handeling a pain. For 3 years I watched a tax preparer enter my imformation in Turbo tax gathered all the material. I can do that and have done for 4 years now. What a savings for a few minetes of effort.
What's great about it: inports last year's information and checks this years against it
What's not so great: have to pay for it

Overcame Frustration

Completed a simple return, but unable to efile! Checked all possible solutions shown for transmittal problems, even going from wireless connection to ethernet wired connection. No Help! Finally used a Turbotax technician who figured out my Zone Alarm firewall settings were preventing me from transmitting to Turbotax. She solved my problem and the file went through.
What's great about it: Great Live Support
What's not so great: No immediate solution
