Got a refund!!

I have used Turbo Tax for years an can find not fault with them. Whether you do your own or take info to a preparer the preliminary work (getting everything together) must be completed. The "take me through it" asks every question, and of course there is help. Can not stress the easiness of the program.
What's great about it: So user friendly, just follow along
What's not so great: nothing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

First time user and impressed

In past have used tax service and spent hundreds of dollars. TurboTax recommended by friend and I would definitely recommend to others. Unfortunately did not get refund but process was smooth and easy to go back to. Definitely feel worth minimal cost since had itemized return to file.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions, quick process.
What's not so great: Nothing jumps out at me
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy to use and straight forward

I start my taxes even before the new years starts. A couple of folders for documents and each time I get one, I put it where it belongs. By the time I buy Turbotax, my taxes are half done.
THAT'S the secret to doing taxes right. Organization from the start, no shoving pieces of paper into a box and then dumping it on a tax preparer for me. I've used Turbotax since they came out with it.

I Don't Hate Filing Our Tax Return Any More !

I took my time and spread this task out over several days, which worked out well for me. Next year I'm going to use the feature where I enter my donated items all year. This year that was my most time-consuming task, when it needn't be. I hadn't printed or E-filed anything: went back to make a correction & was instructed to file an amended return. What's up with that? Overall, feel like it worked well and was worth the price.
What's great about it: Took it step by step. Corrections easy. Good explanations.
What's not so great: Had to enter all those items for the long form, only to take the standard deduction.

Excellence and Efficiency

There are 3 main points that characterize TurboTax that I have NOT found in other tax services:
1. TurboTax is updated each time you use the program. That means no worries about changing rules and regulations!
2. TurboTax looks for the deductions that are unique to your profession. I'm a teacher so there are several, like maintaining a library of books. Over the years this deduction has changed and TurboTax kept up with each step.
3. TurboTax provides the perfect support documentation. Over the years I've been through several audits (like I said earlier, I've got some unusual deductions). The first couple of audits required that I go back and pull out details from a variety of sources. Now I've been through an audit after using TurboTax. With TurboTax the data is all in one place. I walked into the audit with only the TurboTax printout and walked out 90 minutes later. Quick, easy, no hassle.

Turbo Tax

Turbo Tax rates an A for me because of cost for the value of the program. I would give it an A+ if it would be more compatible for Macs and let me retrieve data from the previous year into my current year.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is very user friendly. We have been using for many years. I feel secure with Turbo Tax.
What's not so great: I wish Turbo Tax was more Mac friendly because it won't down load my last year taxes.

Yet One More Year with TurboTax

I started using TurboTax in 1995 and have used it ever since. A couple to times I have used an accounting firm to prepare my return to compare TurboTax with its return. In each case, the returns were similar -- but TurboTax was far less expensive.
I will continue to use TurboTax.
What's great about it: Simple orderly progression to report all income and deductions
What's not so great: Some questions relating to state return
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax User

Great for the "easy" return but also meets the needs of the more difficult return. Finding the K-1 form entry was difficult until I used the search option.
What's great about it: Thorough
What's not so great: Navigation is sometimes cumbersome
