Reliable as Always!

I rely on TurboTax every year to make tax prep a relatively painless process. Before TurboTax, tax prep was misery!
What's great about it: Imports from years before
What's not so great: Nothing!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

If you have to do taxes, turbotax is a great way to do them
What's great about it: carries forward the past years information
What's not so great: inputing information on K-1 seems awkward

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years now. I like it a lot. The help section is very sterile, with tax forms and IRS language. Always accurate but how about some easier prompts to follow along.
What's great about it: easy to import tax information
What's not so great: sometimes confusing to navigate back to previous pages

I really like Turbo Tax, and have learned a lot from churning our taxes. However, I don't like the fact that when it checks errors, it does not tell you how to fix them clearly. i.e. (enter value in -1)???? Also, when it runs the risk factor, it says what risk you are at, but not how to lower the risk of audit. (How to fix it). As you progress through the categories, turbo tax takes you back to the beginning, rather than to continue through all categories. I claim a home office for my tutoring job. I never understand when I'm in the correct place to enter this, and how much utilities to put in.
What's great about it: I love it- however sometimes I have questions & seem to have problems getting answers. I wish I could call.

Love Turbo Tax

I love Turbo Tax, I use it every year. I like how it walks you through each section. This lets you know what's available as there may be something new that can give you a bigger refund. My only issue is when it asks if you want to import your W2 or your investment information, it never works for me. I always get locked out and I know I'm using the right logons/passwords.

I use deluxe to do two businesses for both my wife and I, plus I have a full time job. Add investments, kids, school, retirement, and donations and the program is well worth the price.

Complicated Federal and Montana State Returns

I was pleased with the ability to call my attention to issues I had not considered when filing the trust k-1's with my Federal and Montana State return that allowed me additional subtractions to my Taxable income. Also the ability to create PDF files give me every single calculation and worksheet just in case I need it without have to print a ream of paper.
What's great about it: Called issues to my attention that I might have missed
What's not so great: Didn't expect to pay for State e-filing
