This is the 5th or 6th year I've done my taxes with Turbo-Tax! I love it and I recommend it to everyone!

Turbotax Deluxe 2012

The federal return was relatively easy to do, but I found that much of the Turbotax data supposedly taken directly and automatically from my 2011 return (for use on the 2012 forms) was dramatically incorrect. For example, Turbotax indicated I had paid no alimony in 2011, but I had paid more than $19,000 in alimony that year. Both years I used Turbotax, so why the discrepancy? Also, Turbotax inexplicably wouldn't allow me to import my W-2 form from my employer's payroll system although I had done so in 2011.
Instructions for the Colorado return were unclear. I still don't know if I did it right. Why did the software, for example, say I'm a non-resident? I changed this, but it left me worried.
What's great about it: Fast, easy to follow
What's not so great: Problems with work-related expenses

Great way to file

Called IRS. They didn't have answers about RMD's. Contacted Turbo Tax and they answered my questions immediately.
What's great about it: Most info was easy to understand

I HAD TO LOAD THE DISK THREE TIMES, IT NEVER DID TAKE AUTOMATICLY.
WHEN I FINISHED MY FEDERAL RETURN IT WOULD NOT LET ME GO INTO THE STATE RETURN.. I SLEPT ON IT AND THE NEXT DAY I STARTED OVER AND WENT COMPLETELY THRU MY FEDERAL RETURN EXPECTING THE PROBLEM TO STILL BE THERE BUT TO MY SURPRISE IT ALLOW ME INTO MY STATE RETURN AND I WAS ABLE TO FINISH

Third Time and Counting

I have used this for the last two filing periods for myself, my son and brother in-law and we each have received all or nearly all the tax we paid in a refund. This covers everything from earnings to state sales tax. I did not know state sales tax was even deductible. Most rewarding of all for me, because I work in a Foreign Country, is it covers Foreign Earned Income and helps determine if it is excusable. There are forms that are completed in the background that are required for exclusion. The first year that I used Turbo Tax I had income that was not excusable until the minimum time outside the United States had been reached. I used Turbo Tax to walked me through step by step to amend my return and get all of the tax paid in that period refunded.
It does not matter if it is a simple return with one W2 or multiple, filing jointly, itemizing, foreign income, stock dividends or anything else, Turbo Tax will get you your max return and conduct an audit.

What's great about it: Covers every possible scenerio
What's not so great: Program knows I do not file state taxes yet wants to proceed through the steps.

Not as friendly as past versions

It's not as user friendly as it used to be. Lots of little things that just make it a little more difficutlt to navigate. Some of the explanations lack clarity. Even credating this review shows problems in their lack of customer friendliness
