2012 TurboTax - great product.

I enjoy using TurboTax and have for many years. I have always felt secure that TurboTax would find the max refund for me. The tool is continually improving. I like the choice of Explore or Step by Step and use the explore method myself. The transfer from last year and import from financial institutions features have eliminated much typing which I hate to do.
Overall a great product which I highly recommend.
What's great about it: Ease of data entry. Correctness of calculations guarantee. Thoroughness of finding deductions.
What's not so great: Some of the uncommon deductions are not explained sufficiently.

TurboTax makes it easy to file your taxes. If you have filed your return the previous year using TurboTax, you can pull in all of the information from that return. It makes it easy to compare this year's return to last year's to see if you have missed anything. If you didn't file with TurboTax last year, you still follow the same process, following along and answering the questions, but you cannot compare your returns. I always use TurboTax to file my taxes because it gives me a sense of security that I am not going to mess anything up and get audited.
What's great about it: Easy!!!
What's not so great: Time consuming, but that's what you expect with doing taxes

The software makes it so simple. All instructions are available at any point of entry. I love it.
What's great about it: The ease of step by step entry
What's not so great: If you could back up when enteriing the charitable deductions

Turbo Tax is quick, easy, accurate, and enjoyable.
What's great about it: Quick and easy and always great to have my refund from the prior year imported. I also love importing my W-2 and Stocks
What's not so great: Honestly Nothing!!! I have used turbotax for about 10 years and love each upgrade each year.

I enjoy using TurboTax - much better than going to a paid preparer. It does take a while - 2.5 hours for me, even with my paperwork ready. I have used TurboTax for many years and always use it for tax returns.
What's great about it: Q&A type interface, has the latest changes
What's not so great: Still takes a while - 2.5 hrs for me

Dumbed down too much

I realize that many filers just want their taxes done and don't want to be bothered with the details but some of us actually want to understand the process. I find it irritating to have to answer questions when I do not know why they are being asked and that I can't see what is happening to my return until it is finished and ready for filing.
What's great about it: My taxes are done
What's not so great: Annoyed by endless question that seem to have no purpose.
