Logical, covered all possible donations quickly.

Good product. Updates are timely and download easily. Overall, I can get finished with my return in about an hour once I begin entering the data.
What's great about it: Short, concise and to the point. I feel all areas are covered sufficiently to maximize my tax liabilities and credits.
What's not so great: I very seldom get any money back, but I don't think this is the fault of Turbo Tax.

Turbo tax is very professional and user friendly. It guides you through the process step by step. I have used Turbo Tax for the last 5 years and I am very satisfied with it. It was recommended by my brother who is a professional tax preparer.
What's great about it: Excellent, user friendly software for doing your own taxes!
What's not so great: Never remembers my account from previous year!
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Our experience using TurboTax over the years has repeatedly been positive. This year was no different and we did receive our federal refund early on in the time period indicated. Would be best if right after the final review at the start of the filing process the software indicated which of the relevant states charge e-file fees (rather than disclose this near the end of the process).
What's great about it: Simple, efficient, and thorough
What's not so great: Should flag upfront which states have e-file fees

I have a family grantor type trust. I prepare a 1041 and 541 to consolidate entries on an A,B,C, and D schedules which I attach to the 1041 and 541 and send to the appropriate tax trust filing addresses. I use the Trust A,B,C, and D schedule total figures as entries for my 1040 and 540 filings entering the total figures as trust entries on the appropriate family tax return schedules. This is rather cumbersome. I wish TurboTax had a routine to handle the grantor trust problem, Am sure I am not alone in having this problem.
What's great about it: Many ways to prepare returns. I use forms method.
What's not so great: Sometimes finding the first entry form for an item is difficult.

I have used TurboTax for filing my taxes for the past 30 years, with only one or two exceptions, e.g., when my parents died and there were inheritance issues. The step-by-step process ensures that all possibilities are covered, the additional help documents and IRS documents enable me to check the details to ensure that I am filling out the forms correctly. The e-filing capability makes the filing process simple and secure.
What's great about it: Easy to use, reliable, gold standard in the industry
What's not so great: I usually have to edit the state return as my state has some very specific categories for taxable vs non-taxable income.
