Tax Time

TurboTax has been a great help in minimizing preparation and filing of tax returns - federal and states. The logical progression leads to step by step and allows you to go back and edit information entered.
The divisions - income, deductions etc - are well organized and the step by step guide is very helpful.
The section "forms" helps one to review the information entered - as it will appear in the final submission.
The best of all - one does not have to read and digest/interpret the ambiguous text detailing what should be entered on a certain line in the form!
Have been using TurboTax for several years and like it.

CONVENIENT EXPEREINCE

I HAVE DOING MY TAX RETURN AND MY FAMILY'S TAX RETURN WITH TURBO TAX SINCE 2009. I LIKE ITS CONVENIENT FEATURES. ITS CONVENIENT BECAUSE OF I CAN TRANSFER MY PY INFO WITH NO HASSLE. THE STEP BY STEP FEATURES, THE QUESTIONS ARE EASILY UNDERSTOOD. ANOTHER REASON I LIKE THIS SOFTWARE IS DOING TAX RETURN STRESS FREE WITH THE QUESTION AND ANSWER FEATURE.
What's great about it: STEP BY STEP QUESTION FEATURE
What's not so great: LESS SUGGESTION OF AVAILABE POSSIBLE CREDIT

Overall it's easy to use, just sometimes it's not smart enough to know you have already done several fields. I would recommend this program though.
What's great about it: It saves your info and time
What's not so great: Sometimes it's hard to find what you are looking for and goes back to what you did already

Slightly confused

Turbo Tax is very helpful and a MUCH cheaper option than using a tax service when you do not have too many complicated tax issues. I do not own my own business or have any dependents so I did not need to worry about finding receipts or calculating credits for dependents. I was concerned with almost filing my return without having added my refund from the previous year as a part of my income. My state did not send out 1099-G forms this year so I didn't have the physical reminder to add that in as income. I thought Turbo Tax would ask me if I had a refund from the previous year, and if it did, they should have asked twice (ex. are you sure you don't have a refund from last year to report?).
What's great about it: Definitely takes you step by step to help you understand what to file
What's not so great: I had to search for where to enter my previous year's state refund and almost missed adding it to my federal return
