Been a turbotax user for a long time. But that in itself has pluses and a minus. It's come a long way from where it was -- with most gains developed quite a few yrs ago. My taxes are fairly easy: homeowner, schedule A,Mutual funds, W-2 downloadable. Using the s/w may be a reflection of that, but can usually whip a return out in less than a night. I think only headaches come from import of Quicken data (introduces hard to track items categorized incorrectly, etc#. To rectify that, I wish there was a way to use the step-by-step and being able to reference where a number comes from to correct #usually had to step through sections to find#. Would have been easier I suppose if I just simply filled out from last year using the forms-view #but always worried I'll miss something new in me or tax code or program). Which brings me to my only true gripe -- why change anything in the look and feel of the basic GUI if nothing fundamentally changes? I'm okay with paying for the same GUI every year as long as the guts are up to date.

I used HR block last couple years and once we started to earn income as a family the fee was ridiculous. for less than a third of the price the deluxe version was all we needed to take care of our home and school expenses. Very easy from start to finish!
What's great about it: Easy steps take you from start to finish

Used H&R Block software last year, will never use it again. Turbo Tax is MUCH better.

I have an accounting degree, I have used Turbotax for about 10 years now and it's still a painful experience. I will never use it again.
What's great about it: Not much
What's not so great: Torture, poor input navigation, not user friendly

2012 TurboTax version is very friendly to us. We have been using TurboTax for a few years and this year, we did not have one issue that we had to go back and redo.
I hope they keep improving the product - although I don't know how much they could improve it - it's already very user friendly. My CPA wife loves it because it is easy to use and she says it's very accurate.
What's great about it: Easier to use than last year's version

As always, Turbo Tax is quick and easy to use. I like how it imports your numbers from your previous years returns.
