Gave just what I expected

I've been preparing my own taxes using turbo tax for the last 4-5 years. Works as expected. Quick, easy and to the point.
What's great about it: Straight forward-To the point.
What's not so great: No reason to have to buy the software every year. It can be patched with an update for a small nominal fee.

If you can read & type! You can do TurboTax!

I am surprise that more people don't use TurboTax it is so easy! My sons both used it & had me double check them & they had entered everything correct!!!

Quick and easy

TurboTax was very easy to use and made sure I didn't miss anything. The electronic filing was very convenient. My main complaint was that I had to re-enter much of the information I had previously entered, such as the names and addresses of my employers, names and addresses of my donations, my automobiles, and so forth.
What's great about it: It lead me through the process so I didn't forget anything.
What's not so great: I had to re-enter some information that I had entered last year, such as the names and addresses for my donations.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Easy & Complete

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and find it provides a complete approach for my taxes at both fed and state levels. The carryover of many aspects related to income and deductions is really time saving.
What's great about it: Step by step approach is great; wonderful to have carryover from past year; saves me time; easy to file
What's not so great: None really

Great Software

I use Turbo tax every year, It is great..
However, it should be able to go back to the previous year's return and calculate whether the state refund is actually taxable on the federal return since AMT eliminated the state tax as a deduction. Other than this it is great.. The instructions for this are really unclear.

What's not so great: Does not automatically redo last years calculation where the State refund should not be income since AMT eliminated it

ONE AND DONE

We love how TurboTax helps us do our own taxes every year. It is very convenient how it imports the data from previous years so you don't need to re-enter all those numbers (SSN, EIN, etc.)
What's great about it: DONE IN ONE NIGHT
What's not so great: FACEBOOK PROMPT AT THE END WAS LAME

TurboTax needs improvement

From my standpoint, the biggest problem with TurboTax - and is has existed for at least 15 years and there is no way to request that it be corrected - is that TurboTax does not print 2-sided correctly. There is no way to tell TurboTax that you are using two-sided printing, so if it needs to print a one-sided form, it just goes ahead and prints (incorrectly) whatever is next on the back of that form, instead of inserting a blank page so that the back of the one-sided form is blank. In this respect, TurboTax is a fairly Mickey Mouse code, and they've have over 15 years to solve the problem.
What's great about it: accurate

Easy, Quick, Complete, Secure

I was able to fill in everything using my check stubs and account activity reports from my doctors, pharmacy and health professionals.
I have no bookkeeping or accounting experience and I didn't need any. The reading level for the instructions was 6th grade or lower. It doesn't take a college graduate to understand the instructions.
The results a guaranteed for accuracy and they thought of things I didn't know could be deducted. I feel comfortable that everything is accurate.

What's great about it: You just fill in the blanks. It is totally understandable by a High School Graduate or anyone with a GED.
What's not so great: I don't type very quickly.
