Great easy filing!

I've been using Turbotax for years.. even when the program was in DOS with no GUI. The program is soo much better then doing paper returns. Simple and Easy! So convenient to file online.
What's great about it: Easy to use.. good interface.. no issues at all!!
What's not so great: Not free..
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Great product!

I have used Turbotax for years and highly recommend it. Easily transfers all your pertinent information from previous return to this year, including from the PC in 2011 to the iMac in 2012.
The program did not automatically enter California capital loss carryover. It asked me to put in the numbers. Took me awhile to figure out what numbers to put in. If it wasn't for this, I would have given 5 stars!
Please fix this for next year.
What's great about it: Easy to use year after year
What's not so great: One issue with State (California)

It's So Easy to File Your Returns!

I'm an accountant and Turbo Tax makes the entire process very easy. I have three children - 1 in college, 1 in grad school, and 1 just beginning her full time job. Each has a different tax scenario and needs. I was able to teach them how to do their returns by assisting them as Turbo Tax walked them through the process. They were all impressed. They particularly loved the expedited filing and refunds! Expedited refunds mean a lot to college & grad school students. I helped them assess if the additional filing fees & electronic refund fees made sense for them. In some cases they did, and in others they were expensive for their current budgets.
As an accountant I sometimes bore my children with my financial strategies & advice. I laughed as Turbo Tax suggested certain things they could do to change their taxes. In some cases it reinforced what I may have said, but this time they believed it! Thanks Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: So easy, even for beginners! The whole family's returns done in a day!
What's not so great: Non, nada, nothing!

We have paid taxes in the past 2 years, but would like to get a further explanation on why we owe so much. Turbo tax is easy to use and helps somewhat simple situations for taxes. We'd love it if the program really showed why we owed so much WITH the explanation on how we can improve or what we can do for future years. Otherwise overall painless experience.
What's great about it: easy straightforward questions and resolving complicated issues
What's not so great: Doesn't explain how to fix so you dont owe in future years
