Solid, Accurate, Reliable

I've been using Turbotax for years, last year I had some very complicated special situations so I had a tax attorney do my taxes as well. He came up with exactly the same numbers as turbotax. That raised my already high confidence level even higher.

Turboed My Tax

Absolutely easy and user friendly way to avoid a CPA filing fees. Truly understand what you are inputting and review of output is fantastic.
What's great about it: So user friendly!
What's not so great: Not sure what was going in on Non Resident Tax forms.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I liked Turbo Tax better this year than last year. There were changes in last year's version that I did not like at all and did consider not using Turbo Tax this year. I am glad I did!

Easy but....

I've used Turbo Tax for at least the last 5-6 years and I like it because its easy. As I acquire more debt and a more complicated financial situation every year, Turbo Tax is always just as easy to work through and leaves me with peace of mind that I haven't forgotten anything. I have noticed recently that it is charging me more each year for state returns, though. This year it charged me (more than I paid for the disk I should say) both to create the return and then to file the return - I wasn't happy but I'd already come so far (which is exactly what they were counting on). I just wished I'd realized that before getting to the end. I'm sure I would've still used Turbo Tax, but I wouldn't have felt slightly abused by the situation. Goes to show the ease and accuracy of use still wins me over!
What's great about it: Easy to use, easy to understand
What's not so great: Double charge for state tax return

TTax Review

Generally works pretty well. Covers most items and helps to make sure valid deductions are found. Did find an overpayment on social securtity and medicare with my employer (was surprised it checked).
What's great about it: Transfer feature from previous returns

Completed federal AND state returns in 3 hours ... and no need to run to mailbox! Wow! Now have the rest of the weekend to myself! Hmmmm ... weather is great for golf!
What's great about it: Self-explanatory steps ... won't let you mess up!

Simple to use

This time had two major changes to my life, sold my home and turned 70 1/2, Had questions about both that were answered by comments when filling in the forms or asking a question and getting a good answer. The house sell was handled efficently. I had to ask a question about getting my RMD late, answer took the worries I had.
What's great about it: Easy explantion for all of my questions
What's not so great: Did not load from quicken this time
