TurboTax: Old Faithful

I've been using TT for years, and my wife refuses to let me change; we file separately, and she doesn't want to re-learn with another package. It gets the job done, but over the years it has filled up with silly intermediate screens that do nothing (except promote TurboTax) and try to be flashy ("We re-checking your return" is silly; I'm sure it's just pausing for entertainment purposes).
But it works, so....
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Too much built-in marketing and attempts at "Pizzaz"

I have used Turbo Tax for 10 years now. It is an execellent tool to do taxes. Simply, easy and accurate. I seem to get the maxium return without any hassles.

it was a fight to get it done

it was a real fight, I finally just gave up and e-filed as it was!
I sold a partnership and it was a real fight to enter the data, i just gave up. The numbers didn't add up withholding plus withholding on the sale of the partnership, both entered correctly, the total was off by $8. I've used TT for over 20 years this may the last time.
I could not change the data on form 8949 and schedule D!
What's great about it: nice interface
What's not so great: would not let me correct a form 8949 problem!!! it duplicated an entry!!!

Consistently accurate and convenient

The program, as usual is an easy way for the average taxpayer to produce an accurate return. The addition of a bookmark feature to be temporarily placed on pages to which you would like to return....would eliminate having to page through an entire section at a time.
What's great about it: Easy to follow guide, clear and concise help
What's not so great: Lack of Bookmark feature

it would be most helpful to have a feature that enables a user to map the questions answered to the boxes on the forms--as it is now, it's very difficult to be able to check your numbers as you have to search and search to figure out what question you answered that could have resulted in the number.
What's great about it: question format
What's not so great: no way to trace form numbers back to questions
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Awsume program easy to use

I thought tht the program was user friendly. i thought that I would have to have a professional do my families taxes this year however, Thanks to Turbo Tax I wont have to pay someone to do it I did i myself.
What's great about it: easy to use, able to find a lot deductables, made filling enjoyable

Hassle free to use. Get all you supporting documents ready and its a snap to use, even for computer illiterate like me.
