takes no time at all after the first year

after the first year, the importing of the general information speeds up the process and gives a baseline for out of the norm issues

Quick and cheap

I like the fact that accountants are available via phone for help but the hold times are very long to reach them and the phone number to call for their help is difficult to find. Overall, this product is better than going to your local accountant for help.
What's great about it: No waiting in line for review
What's not so great: Technical issues may require long hold times on phone

Another Strange Year

Generally Easy to Use. But likes to go forward in its own direction. If some documents are not available and you bypass a step, you have to go back through a lot of stuff to get back to that particular portion

What's not so great: Difficult to jump around in Step by Step

Another non-eventful tax return

I've been a Turbo tax user for many years. It meets all my requirements. I would not dare to suggest to others since I do not pretend to know what the needs of others are.
I suspect 75-80% of the tax paying problem would agree with my assessment.

What's great about it: Just they I like it....no hassles.
What's not so great: I wish the State return could be included in total purchase price!

Turbo Tax found little known areas of the tax code and brought them forward. Two examples are the reduction of New York State tax refund from previous year (State and Local Income Tax Worksheet),and Lump Sum Disability payment from previous years.
The program caused an audit of these two items and when I went to show the IRS office my reasoning for the deductions, they simple said it appeared wrong to them because no one else uses those forms, but Turbo tax was completely correct. Cased closed I would use no other tax preparation software.

What's great about it: Fast, Accurate, Fun
What's not so great: Needs to be updated every time it starts up

Fair Tax Now

The only problem I had was when I saw that I was getting a $1,000 refund from the state I knew that should have been around $500 and knew that had to be wrong and later found that Turbo Tax had automatically assumed that I applied last years state refund to the taxes I owed when I had not which caused my adjusted gross income to be wrong. I was able to find and fix the problem before filing.
What's great about it: Easy
