2012 Return

The product was easy to follow for the majority of the process. In a couple of areas it might be good to offer more depth on the handling of RMDs. At the end, the option to apply the federal refund to next year's taxes was not obvious and required going back into the form itself to make the entry.
What's great about it: Generally easy to follow
What's not so great: Challenge to apply refund to next year

TurboTax appears to perform as expected but one never know until the tax man signs off. I like that it tracks multiple years but the format changes every year. When I don't see the continuity of format I wonder if all the data was used correctly. AMT calculations and explanations are very vague. With more institutions allowing downloading data it is becoming very simple. I did file an amended return last year and it corrupted the file. Save everything as a pdf.
What's great about it: Using it multiple years eases inputs from earlier years
What's not so great: The interface changes every year requiring a new learning curve.

Great experience and easy

Overall experience was outstanding. Pop-up windows and links to IRS guides are very helpful. Had to make a few corrections after review. Realized a mistake was made in one of the corrections and it was a bit difficult to return to the worksheet where the correction was made. Eventually got back to it, but it wasn't so easy. Have used Turbo Tax for several years now and will still use it in the future.
What's great about it: Common language questions makes it easy to understand
What's not so great: Corrections made after review, hard to navigate back to worksheets to view amendments

TurboTax makes filing taxes each year a breeze. The software pulls data from previous years to make it go even faster. I will use this every year!

Complex Return Made Easy

I had a complex return involving job change, moves, two states for me and my spouse. The software made it easy to complete. The transfer info to state returns is invaluable. Saves huge amounts of time and headaches.
What's great about it: Logical, understandable walk thru methods
What's not so great: State Returns not as simple as Federal
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
