TurboTax makes it easy!

TurboTax makes filing taxes bearable. Lots of helpful information and plenty of step-by-step guidance.
At the end there is an "error review" which is great, because sometimes things get missed. Specifically - if you work on your return, save it, come back to it later and update/change things, etc - certain fields may not be populated correctly or you may have undone something which TurboTax did for you. Definitely a great feature.
What's great about it: lots and lots of helpful explanations about almost everything
What's not so great: taxes are never easy...

Easiest Way to Complete Tax Forms

I have been using Turbo Tax for over 20 years. It simply takes the pain out of completeing tax forms and filing Federal and State Income Taxes. I am convinced that it is the best product available. Much better than sitting with an agent of a tax reservice company, and have them enter my data into their software.
What's great about it: Easiest Way to Complete Tax Forms
What's not so great: This software can't reaad my mind yet.

Is My Tax Return Accurate?

Having used Turbo Tax for 5 years now, this year was a totally different experience. While the only changes to our tax situation for 2012 was an increase over the maximum income limit and a child who turned 17 before the end of 2012, I had to do too much research to confirm why I was not given a child tax credit, why the tax underpayment was so large and spent way too much time going back to each section to confirm that Turbo Tax had covered all the bases and that I actually did owe as much as I did!
Help Center was not as useful as I would think it should be and I didn't find many actual responses from Turbo Tax to what I would think were very common questions. IRS site was much more useful.
I ended up contacting an accountant to review my returns so that I could sleep at night. Would I use it again next year, not sure. The cost of Turbo Tax, research time to confirm answers, and emotional energy spent this year would have perhaps been better spent on an accountant.
What's great about it: Quick and Easy
What's not so great: Too easy, could not confirm that I had been asked all of the questions.

Turbo Tax Experience

I have used Turbo Tax for many years. I previously had an accounting tax business. I liked Turbo Tax because I could either use the self guided questions or jump ahead to the forms I was already familiar with. I also like having access to information about the form, the information to be reported on the line and especially how the forms can be linked. I like the review process which assures I did not make clerical errors, incorrect forms etc.
The one con is it's cost. I wonder if the above warrants the cost, At my age we have little in the way of deductions and generally use the standard deduction, so I could either pay someone else to do my return for a lot less or find an on-line source for free.
What's great about it: It is quick, the questions remind you of deductions, it brings prior years data forward
What's not so great: I wonder why am I paying for a product that many people use on line for free!

Love Turbo Tax!

I have used Turbo Tax to prepare our taxes for the last ten or fifteen years (at least) and I absolutely love it. One year I actually thought I would try a different product and hated it, so I spent the extra money and bought TT. It is so easy and just walks you through all situations. I don't try to just enter my own figures because I don't want to miss any deductions TT might find for me. It is a great product and I will continue to use it every year. Thanks Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: ease of preparing our taxes
What's not so great: nothing I can think of that makes much difference

No more dread, I still came out ahead!

Over-all this program rocks and is very easy to use and navigate! Even my "I don't know how to use a computer" challenged friends were able to complete their returns with minimum difficulty!
What's great about it: The Program is very easy to use, constantly updated, and really searches for deductions.
What's not so great: When starting the return, the amount due / refund boxes makes you think you're in really bad shape (with amount due).
