Makes Filing Taxes Easy and Cheap

What's great about it: Walks you through step by step

Turbo Tax is turbo great

Great, easy to use tax guide that takes an in depth look at all aspects of the tax laws and leaves "no stone unturned". If everyone would know how easy this program is to use, the CPA's in this country would have a lot of extra time on their hands come tax time. I have recommended Turbo Tax highly to all of my friends and relatives and many of them have begun using it and are as equally impressed as I am.
What's great about it: great step by step pace that a layman can understand and easily follow

Consistent Tax Tool

Very solid and consistent tax tool. Ease of pulling in W2's and financial institution data. Needs to be better integrated with errors that need to be fixed (quick view of form and original question, some guidance on how to fix)
What's great about it: Leverages prior returns, pulls data from financial institutions
What's not so great: Items that need to be fixed are not linked to a quick view of the form or original question
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Consistently easy and accurate

I've been using Turbo Tax for years, and wouldn't consider a different program. Turbo Tax safely transfers data from my previous returns (everything from employers to charitable donations to my bank account for depositing a refund), and thus makes it easy to enter my annual changes and file with ease. I wish it was a bit easier to update charitable donations, as I give small amounts to a variety of causes, and thus it is somewhat time-consuming to enter - but that is probably an IRS issue. E-filing is quick and easy, although I wish the cost of e-filing my state return was included in the price along with the federal return.
What's great about it: easy to save and come back later, transfers data from previous year
What's not so great: it takes a few extra clicks to get back to where you want to be if you skip around

Error proof

I have been using Turbo tax for years and each and every year it gets easier. Not only does my previous return already loaded but the recommendations help me for each situation. I don't why people pay so much to go to a licensed person that's probably using this same software.
What's great about it: The fact that the software provides a error proof way to file your taxes.
What's not so great: None
