A great source of help, with nothing missed.

2012 Turbo Tax

I am a CPA and have been a Turbo Tax user for about 10 years and I became very frustrated with this year's version. In fact, I may consider other tax programs next year.
1. I didn't like the fact that each time I wanted to enter an income item, Turbo Tax would ask me if "I wanted to import or enter it myself." After 3 times, Turbo Tax did have a button that said "don't ask this again". This option should appear the first time an item is entered.
2. I really don't care to see a picture of a tax professional and how many years of experience he/she has on certain screens.
3. Product is extremely slow during the installation process and when getting updates in comparison to other software products I have installed on my computer.
4.. I found that printing a return for my review very difficult and frustrating. It took at least 30 mins to print 1 federal and 1 state return each time I wanted to print. my return for review. At one point, I clicked on the line that said "need to print for review", and a comment box popped up telling me that "...we recommend holding off until then....If you want to print right now, go to the print center..." If you are not going to print allow me to print when I click on that link, then don't have that link. Part of the problem is that Turbo Tax creates a PDF to print from which slows the process down tremendously.
5. I really don't like the fact that a "Thank You" letter from Turbo Tax prints out when I print my return. It's a waste of a piece of paper that I have to pay for. I would much rather you put your money into creating a better, faster product than putting in a thank you letter.
6. I also don't understand why you need my marital status, the number of kids I have or whether or not I own my own home or rent in order to complete a review of your product.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Extremely slow especially when printing

Love Tubro Tax

I like the fact that I can keep a back up file and it has all my info from the year before. Turbo Tax is like sitting across the table from an account. It is very thorough and check for mistakes. I have been using Turbo Tax Deluxe for years and would not think of using anything else.
What's great about it: Super Easy, tracks your files every year.
What's not so great: None that I could find

Turbo Tax CD

Love this software. You are guided every step of the way. The review shows you any problems. Last year's taxes are transferred to new year without having to enter. I will always select Turbo Tax each year.
What's great about it: I have used Turbo Tax for the past 5 years and wouldn't file any other way. Highly recommend
What's not so great: Have no cons

I've used TurboTax for the past three years and I continue to have great success with the program.
