Smooth and Covers the Details

TurboTax has been my prep for decades adn will continue to be my preference. The state filing fee addition makes the state tax part not free.
What's great about it: The software asks most questions and anserrs any I asked.
What's not so great: Slow to download updates and getting off the trail is difiicult to recover.

This is my 10th year using Turbo Tax. Each year I find it better than the last. I had an error in 2009 and I'm now using my CDs to do the ammended reposts to hopefully get more back from those years also. Try that with a block.
What's great about it: It gets easier ech year with Turbo Tax

Overall, the speed has seemed to improve each year. I used a taxpreparer in the past and came back to turbo tax because seems for a bit more effort I have more control of accomplishment with this endeavor! : - )
What's great about it: Choice of guided or unguided. Choice of update. Easy access & start & stop.
What's not so great: long explanations to arrive at some definitions (maybe unavoidable).

Very user friendly!

I've been using this program since 1996 and really have no isuses with it. It has consistently provided accurate returns for me with many complex tax situations such as stock options, selling a primary residence with substantial capital gains exposure, etc. The one time I was audited was entirely my mistake, so the IRS must be quite confident in the returns that the software generates.
What's great about it: Simple yet thorough
What's not so great: Needs updates every few weeks in Jan-Feb timeframe
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax software was really easy to use and with the e-file feature, it made it even easier and extremly convenient.

Fast and Easy

I like how the software instantly read the necessary info from my 2011 TurboTax return and provided it for filling out my 2012 return.
What's great about it: The title says it all.
What's not so great: If you have a special situation, the explanations provided might not be helpful.

Maxed Out My Refund

I've used Turbo Tax for the past 8 years now and I must say that each edition is an improvement upon the last. The format is very easy to follow and the prompts guide you through all aspects of tax preparation while ensuring nothing is overlooked. Last years tax information is conveniently stored and uploaded into the current years return and once you've made the necessary updates it's off to the races for a quick refund!
What's great about it: Easy to Navigate and Understand
