All in all I'm happy with the software, but I noticed a problem with TT program not transferring information from previous year. It cost me about 180 in refunds last year! Luckily I caught it this year and am able to amend but that's a hassle and sort of complicates my future tax return for 2013. So beware, and REVIEW EACH SECTION CAREFULLY, even if it said you didn't have any similar items or $0 from the previous year. Specifically noticed a problem in TT 2011 in my information on the State Return regarding the State Adjustment to Federal Income i.e. College Savings Plans (529) my figures did not transfer from 2010 . (But it did transfer everything related to the College Savings Plan in the Federal Return). I guess I've just relied too much on Turbo Tax getting the transfer numbers right, so when I saw that last year it was zero, I probably assumed that it didn't apply to me again and bypassed it. This year I questioned it, even though it said that I didn't have any last year. This seemed strange since I know that I contributed to my children's accounts consistently for years. Went back to my TT programs for 2010, and 2011 and verified the details. Somehow TT did not transfer the correct information over from my 2010 state return to my 2011 state return. (However, everything else related to my college accounts and expenses were correct in the Federal Return. So overall not so bad, this is the first problem I've found in a number of years, but it does make me more aware of checking each category in detail, even if it was $0 last year just to be on the safe side! Thanks!

What's not so great: Review categories carefully! Transferred Figures may not be accurate.

I've used Turbo Tax for many years and it just keeps getting better and better.
I really appreciated how easily it handled and downloaded all my investment information. Can't imagine how painful it would have been to enter all the transactions by hand.
All Tax info is logically and easily grouped so that it is very easy to jump back to a particular topic to add or change data.
What's great about it: Efficiently handled importing of investment info

The Big Easy

I liked that any updates were installed first. It was easy doing my own taxes as it walked my through every possible situtation. When I didn't finish in one evening, I felt like I was starting over. I would recommend this to everyone, in fact I am doing my family's taxes next.
What's great about it: That I was walked through the entire process.
What's not so great: Felt that I started from the beginning when I didn't finish in one sitting!

This version of TuboATax did not support the worksheet for Capital Expenses under the Medical Deductions section of schedule A.
What's great about it: Uploading data from last years return and W2s.
What's not so great: Doesn't support all of the IRS worksheets.
