Turbo tax could not send my return by E-file because of one of the forms, I am guessing it was the casulty fire deduction, where I had 11,431.00 smoke damage that the insurance company paid all but my 500.00 deductable.

What's great about it: Easy to follow on most items
What's not so great: Had trouble understanding the instructions or lack there off when it came the the fire deduction of 500 that I had.

great way to do taxes! Easy to follow and like that you can import some items
What's great about it: Don't have to worry about math errors, don't have to worry about missing a category
What's not so great: goes to in depth for standard tax payers

Simply good

I have used TT for the last seven years and have not missed the #2 pencil and forms one bit. Answering the directed questions makes it simple knowing what you qualify for. I also enjoy the previous year numbers along side showing what was filed. It is a great tool in a yearly dreaded event!!!!

Excellent program that is easy to use

The program is easy to use and surprisingly very thorough. While I gave it the maximum 5 rating, here are some ways to improve:
1. Incorporate a f/x conversion tool that will help preparers easily convert foreign currencies into USD
2. Summary of all state taxes is not visible until the very end. Should consider a summary column or area that shows all the tax refund or payment amounts. Currently only shows federal and one state.
3. Q&A forum does not appear to have listing of topic matters that would help filter where to look for answers. The general search function generates too many possible hits.

What's great about it: easy to follow step by step instructions; explanations written in a non-technical language
What's not so great: print options are not as easy to follow; filing instructions for paper filing not clear in some aspects (what to file)

Meh--it's okay

I think that TurboTax is okay. It didn't blow me out of the water or anything though. It just did an average job of asking me the right average questions. I did not have to file for business this year, but if I had to get into the more complicated issues of that I don't think I would use this program. It just doesn't seem robust that it would be robust enough.
What's great about it: Easy, walks you through all the deductions, let's you know details about FAQs
What's not so great: It's more expensive than the other guys and you have to pay extra to file state
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

No more erasures and recopying

Over the years, program has grown increasingly intuitive. Choices are clear, the pop up help window usually answers my questions. After accumulating the pertinent information, the completion of my return including itemized deductions takes a minimum amount of time. I have been using Turbotax since I bought my first computer in 1989 or 1990 and wouldn't think of doing my taxes any other way.
What's great about it: thorough, easy to use, makes corrections a snap, leaves nothing overlooked
What's not so great: Sometimes more detail than I need, and sometimes finding the right help topic takes a number of steps
