I was able to accomplish both US and State returns in an orderly manor. All sections were easy to follow so that it took a minimum amount of time.
What's great about it: walks one through clearly
What's not so great: charge for state return

THe program walked me through from end to end. I had a 1099-misc, first time for me. Wasn't sure what to do with it, but TT walked me right through no problem.

I have used TurboTax for many years. The program flows easily and, generally, makes certain that all sources of income and deductions are entered properly. Also, the program is able to import data from previous tax returns which saves a lot of entry of boring data. That is especially useful for deductions to charities. I have not tried to import data from financial institutions as I figure I would have to check all the numbers anyway; and those numbers are spread here and there throughout the forms. Maybe I will try the biggest stock and bond account the next time.
What's great about it: Easy to use and is, generally, very helpful
What's not so great: The program should check for tax withheld on all 1099-R entries and ask if a blank is a real entry.
