i'M NOT VERY GOOD ON A COMPUTER BUT WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT THROUGH WITH MINOR DIFFICULTIES. IF IT'S CLEAR ENOUGH FOR ME IT SHOULD BE FOR MOST PEOPLE.
What's great about it: help,explanations
What's not so great: not sure on some spots when to move forward

Turbo Tax makes me a happy camper!

In my experience Turbo Tax gets easier to use every year. It leads me through all the pertinent areas of my return but still gives me the opportunity to skip unneeded areas. If I don't understand something Turbo Tax is asking, there is always an explanation available so I can answer questions with confidence. I appreciate the fact that I don't have to do my taxes in a single session, but can come back to the process as often as needed. This is an excellent program!
What's great about it: I love the ease of using Turbo Tax and the simplicity it incorporates for getting help and explaining categories.
What's not so great: I have no complaints about Turbo Tax.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I have used TT now for over a decade and its ease of use makes tax filing rather simple. My tax situation is not overly complicated but not the simplest either. I used the deluxe even though I have quite a few stock sales as I can go to forms and fill out numbers and provide supporting docs on my own. Speaking of going to forms - I would never use any software that does not allow this. You want to know where the numbers are going to and coming from.
My one and only knock is that I cannot purchase a second state at a reasonable price.
What's great about it: use easy step or go to forms
What's not so great: if you need 2 states its too expensive
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Using Turbotax Deluxe 2012

I really enjoy using Turbotax (TT)- I use both the "Step-by-Step" (can pickup new ideas) and the Forms view to input my tax information. TT does a great job trying to simplify a sometimes complex process. It would be nice if TT would allow you to print any screen as you walk through the Step-by-Step.
But the best part of TT is having real TT CPA Tax Experts available to help you through difficult issues. You should come up with a way to tie these TT CPA Experts back to your "Audit Defense" so if there is a problem in the future you have the names of the actual TT Experts who helped you. Finally, when a user does need help and they ask for it, it is a waste of time for both users and TT if they get someone who is not qualified to help. If the User already knows there question requires a TT CPA Expert, then they shouldn't have to wait and try to expalin to a TT non-CPA Expert.
What's great about it: Like having Tax Advisor assistance when needed
What's not so great: Should not have to go through TT non-CPA Expert prior to getting to a real CPA, when you already know who you need
