Good refund

It helped get the most refund that I could get based on my income and expenses. Did go the extra mile to look into areas uncommon or not thought about.

2012 Taxes Review

I have used Turbo tax for the past 10 years and each year I am impressed that they can put all the changes in such an easy to understand format. The ease of use is tremendous and the fact that it allows you to go back & forth, research, gives explanations, as well as links to the IRS is amazing.
What's great about it: Specific, to the point, lets you skip non issues
What's not so great: have to dig for some info

Disappointed with the state

I have used this every year for at least 10 years. Each year, the forms are there that I need and I don't even have to select them. The program does all that for me. When I am done, it checks it. Asks questions if there are items missing, and then rechecks it. Awesome. The only thing that is missing, is the ability to e-file the state of illinois return. For some reason, I always have to mail it. Therefore, my refund from the state takes eons to get to me.
What's great about it: Walked me right through to the end
What's not so great: Unable to e-file the state return. Not exactly sure why.

Great Tax Prep tool

I usually fill my turbotax preparations as the various tax forms (ie: w2, 1099s etc) arrive in the mail so I am constantly going over similar sections of the the turbotax tool. It would be helpful if you can skip some of the prior questions and go directly to the specific field. There is probably a way to do this but it is not very intuitive to amateur users like me.
What's great about it: very user friendly and intuitive
What's not so great: had some problems in bypassing some repetitive questions

First Timer - Easy as Pie

As an older American who has always done his own taxes, I found the IRS instructions complicated and the calculations complex as this was my first full year of collecting Social Security and I worked full time for 3/4 of the year. I also itemized deductions.The help guide saved me more than twice what I paid for the program. It would be a bargain even if the program had not called the extra legitimate deductions to my attention. I now have a hard copy, an electronic copy and I got a confirmation of receipt of my taxes by the IRS before I even finished this review. What a relief (even though I did have to pay---which has been my choice rather than overpaying through the year by excess paycheck deductions.) Thank you Turbo Tax

Very pro-efficient

It was an easy process. Even when the IRS denied my claim due to the pin number being incorrect. It helped me to know and pinpoint the problem.

The right questions were asked. Look up of forms was easy. I've been using TurboTax for many years and have felt confident when I push that transmit button that everything is in order.
