My husband used to do the taxes, now he is on medication that makes him a bit fuzzy. This makes it very easy for me and I don't miss anything important.

Saving The Returns

I have used TurboTax for years and am very satisfied with it. The only problems I have had is in the process of saving filed returns. In 2010, my computer completely erased the return for some unknown reason and I had to manually re-enter the information. A difficult thing to do and I am sure there are mistakes now. I don't like to use Cloud services due to security issues but in this case, I would use one provided by TurboTax just for the storing of returns in a format that could be accessed and copied, modified or whatever.
Also, a list of the items in my Federal return that the State of California is changing and why they are changing would be very helpful.

I really like turbo tax. It's so nice having the info already there from one year to the next. It makes it so much faster and less complicated.

I am excited about TurboTax. Even though I have a bachelors in accounting, which required two tax classes, and a masters in business administration, the tax code is arduous, complicated, and boring to read. Also, the abridged instruction booklet provided by the IRS for the tax forms does not provide pertinent, complete information needed to make wise, educated decisions. TurboTax provides this by answering "yes" and "no" questions with links to additional guidance if needed. To simplify or goof proof the process, the software also automatically downloads payment information from companies and transfers last year's tax information, making the process a breeze. Overall, despite understanding the tax code, I still rely on TurboTax and recommend it for family and friends who ask for tax advice.
