Great Again This Year

This is my second year using Turbo Tax. I started using it to file for the 2011 tax year because my tax returns have gotten much more complicated (prior to this I had done my own taxes by hand or with web fill-in forms). I find that Turbo Tax is quite easy to use and I feel pretty confident that the returns are accurate. I will definitely be using Turbo tax in the future.

Every year I do this and wonder why people pay so much. I guess my returns must be simple? I just cannot see any thing that TurboTax could miss.
My advice, which I should take, is to use the "It's deductible" feature. I know I end up with deductions I have not documented so do not take.
What's great about it: It really is so easy to follow the directions
What's not so great: You just wonder what you could miss.

Easy Filing

Found this software easy to navigate through. Used it last year so a lot of my data was transferred over. Cool!

Reporting Railroad Retirement Income

The returns for 2011 & 2011 were difficult to understand the amounts to use on the appropriate lines for Railroad Retirement Income..... VERY CONFUSING. So confusing in fact, that we had to pay additional taxes, interest penalties and a fee this past year to pay via credit card on-line. We could have saved several hundreds of dollars if the program had been more user friendly.
I feel more confident this year and hopefully, I have all the figures in the correct boxes and won't be fined or pay any more penalties in the future!

What's great about it: Much easier this year than in years past.
What's not so great: Repetitive placements of "print" option for the return.

I been used the last 10 years, It been very easy and efile is the faster way to get your refund.
